Equipment Rules


Headgear

  1. All Amateur bouts require that BOTH competitors wear approved competition style headgear. ***

  2. NO Headgear will be warn in professional bouts.

  3. Both competitors will wear the same weight, brand and style headgear.

*** The headgear requirement may be waived by the governing athletic commision on a PER BOUT basis if the do so IN WRITING and BOTH fighters agree to the waiver.

Gloves

  1. All Amateur bouts will use 12 Oz Gloves

  2. All Professional bouts will use 10 Oz Gloves

  3. All Professional bouts will use Laced Gloves

  4. Amateur bouts may use either Laced or Velcro Closure


Hand Wraps

  1. All professional fighters will compete with hands wrapped
    using gauze wraps and applied in compliance with local state regulations.

  2. All amateur fighters will complete with wrapped hands using
    either gauze wraps OR cloth wraps  in compliance with local state
    regulations.

  3. Tape must be applied  in compliance with local state
    regulations.

  4. Competitors are required to provide their own Hand Wraps.


Shin Guards

  1. Shin Guards are will sport an outer surface of leather or
    dipped foam, but NOT vinyl or cloth.

  2. In all cases Shin Guards may include an attached instep
    protector.

  3. All US / Full Contact Rules and Semi-Contact bouts, both
    amateur and professional will REQUIRE Shin Guards.

  4. All Amateur bouts of all styles will require Shin Guards.

  5. Professional International Rules, Muay Thai and San Shou
    will NOT use Shin Guards.

  6. Competitors are required to provide their own Shin Guards.


Foot Pads

  1. Foot Pads are will sport an outer surface of leather or
    dipped foam, but NOT vinyl or cloth.

  2. In all cases Foot Pads will include full to-of-foot and heel
    protection.

  3. Foot Pads may have, but are not required to include "bottom
    of the foot" padding..

  4. All US / Full Contact Rules and Semi-Contact bouts, both
    amateur and professional will REQUIRE Foot Pads.

  5. In Amateur bouts of all styles, foot pads will be optional
    on a per fighter basis.

  6. Professional International Rules, Muay Thai and San Shou
    will NOT use Foot Pads

  7. Competitors are required to provide their own Foot Pads.


Mouth Guards

  1. All competitors MUST wear fitted mouth guards.

  2. Competitors are required to provide their own Mouth Guards.


Groin Protectors

  1. All male competitors MUST wear full wrap under cups.

  2. All approved boxing competition no-foul protectors are
    permitted.

  3. Female competitors are encouraged to wear optional groin /
    pelvis protectors.

  4. Competitors are required to provide their own Groin
    Protectors.


Optional Safety Equipment

  1. NO Rib or Body Protectors are permitted.

  2. NO Elbow Pads are permitted.

  3. Elbow BRACES are permitted, but may not contain ANY hard supports.

  4. NO Knee Pads will be permitted.

  5. Knee Braces that contain NO metal, plastic, or other hard
    materials will be permitted.

  6. No forearm guards will be permitted.

  7. No Face shields of any kind are permitted.
