Corner & Trainer Rules

  • Number of Corner Men

    • A fighter is permitted 3 corner men / women.
    • Only one may enter the ring at any time.
    • In addition to the corner person who enters the ring, another may step on the the ring apron outside the ropes.
    • The other corner person must remain on the floor.

  • Behavior before, after, and between rounds.

    • Sportsman like conduct directed to the referee, PKO representative, promoter, event staff & officials, other competitors and their teams, and spectators is required at all times.
    • Fighters will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct by their corner no matter WHEN that conduct transpires.
    • ONE chief second may join their fighter in the center of the ring for pre-fight instruction, after that all corner people must remain in the corner area.
    • One corner person MUST enter the ring during the round break to shield his fighter from the view of his opponent.
    • The corner crew will clean the corner before the start of the round, ice or excessive water in the corner may result in a 1 point penalty for the fighter.
    • The corner should protect their athlete by requesting a physician review between rounds in the event of any fighter injury, condition, or behavior that might endanger the fighter if he/she continues the bout.

  • Behavior during rounds.

    • Corner staff must stay IN their fighters corner during the round.
    • Corner staff must keep their shoulders below the ring floor level during rounds..
